Growing up, my Mum cherished a beautiful tradition of taking yearly photos together. It meant the world to me, capturing memories year after year. It gave us, the kids, a chance to see where we came from, witness life in those early days, and celebrate the journey of growth. But as life got busier, with work commitments and health challenges, gathering everyone became more and more difficult. Each year brought new hurdles, and slowly, the tradition began to slip away.

In 2018, I decided it was time to bring it back, no matter what. I took on the challenge—organizing everything, making sure everyone was available, even praying that no one would fall ill or have to leave for work. I booked the photographer well in advance, and somehow, against all odds, we managed to pull it off. The photos were beautiful, and they quickly became a treasured part of our family’s story.

Not long after, life changed in unexpected ways, and I lost loved ones, including my Mum. Looking back, I’m incredibly grateful that despite the hurdles, we put in all that work to make that photo session happen. Those photos are the images that grace our walls now and bring comfort at family gatherings. That experience taught me the true value of capturing moments through photography. Photos aren’t just images; they’re parts of our lives, pieces of our story, reminders of the people and love that shape us, and a multigenerational legacy that I’m here to help others create.
